Heard loud bang that shook my house? MASTIC NY?

was in Mastic Beach when me my gf her sister and children heard a tremendous bang so loud we felt it in the ground..when we went outside there was neighbors out as well who shrugged it off but i found it unsettling that everyone just wrote it off as nothing it was so loud our first intention was to look up to see if anything was falling from the sky..planes asteroids and such..any ideas no mention of this on the news or anything so it couldnt have been an explosion ..too loud to be a gunshot
