Ridge on edge of contact lens cause problems?

Somehow, when I closed my contact lens case, the lens got caught. When I opened it, there was a rippled ridge on the edge. I needed them that day, so I wore them, but they felt quite uncomfortable, so I took them out after about 4 hours. My eye is sore, and feels scratchy. Should I be worried?
