Doctor Who - Journey's End Speculation ???

From what i understand the doctor will regenerate into his current form so that there are 2 Doctors (both david tennant as he is in the final episode and there is no mention of another actor for the doctor) the idea about the proximity of the hand when he regenerates would seem like a plausable idea and would explain the split regeneration.
