Does anyone else get frustrated paying a MANDITORY gratuity in some restaurants and getting crappy service?

yes, I do, and I wish I had been more ertive on several occasions when this happened to me! I think the "auto-grat" leads to inferior service...if the waitron thinks s/he has the $ in the bag, why go to any extra effort?
