Why bulgarian are so dark than other slav?

i have bulgarian origin and when i go in bulgaria i see the bulgarian people , the majority of bulgarian look more greek or spanish than russian and other slav , Many Bulgarians have olive skin and have dark brown / black hair , my parent have olive skin and dark hair (they are pure bulgarian!! not gipsy or turkish !! )
